Seven Bridges Trading 23 (Pty) Ltd, the registered company under which Eyona Energy trades, started as a partnership between two Transkei businessmen.

Ownership of the company has since diversified with local empowerment investment company, African Pioneer Energy (Pty) Ltd, holding a total of 79% of the shares bringing the total shareholding in HDI hands to 98%.

Current Chairman of the Board, Stephen Dondolo from majority shareholder African Pioneer Energy, joined the Board in 2014, as did Greg Webb who serves as an independent director.

In 2017, two more non-executive director positions were created, representing the interests of the African Pioneer Group. These are presently occupied by Zola Tshefu and Nomkhita Mona.

In 2019 the Board was joined by Sisanda Ndungane, shareholder and daughter of founder Richard.

Founder, Clive Berlyn, and Chief Executive Officer Pat Kelly, have both been involved since the company started and both continue to serve on the Board of Directors. Although no longer a shareholder, Clive Berlyn now serves as an independent director, ensuring continuity and continuing to make his institutional and industry knowledge available to the Board.

Together these directors bring a wealth of experience to take the company into the future.
